Time is going a little too fast these days! I only have 2 months left before I have to go back to work and it’s already feeling like it will not be enough time to enjoy being at home all day with Penny.
The past two weeks have been wonderfully uneventful. Minus the three incision sites on my stomach, I feel fully recovered from my appendectomy and we haven’t had any other health issues since then, praise the Lord. Derrick has been able to mostly work from the house, which is great for him and also really helpful for me. I’m able to go out to run errands without having to take her with me. We are really starting to settle into a good schedule and we all are getting some sleep most nights (although sometimes she’s just such a wee beastie and decides to be wide awake for hours in the early morning).
We took her out with us on Friday to get lunch because this mama had a craving for some ramen. It was really the first time we have all gone out together besides going to the pediatrician or the ER, so we were a little nervous about how we all would do. She slept almost the whole time and only screamed a little in the car on the way home (it was time for her to eat too) so I count the whole experience as a win.
We had our first Easter with Penny yesterday. She loved getting dressed up (well, she didn’t scream about it, so that’s the same thing).
Today was her 1 month checkup. She weighs 8.3 lbs and is 21 inches long. She got a clean bill of health from the doctor and now we wait for her 2 month checkup (and shots!).
Of course I have a million pictures of her and I promised myself I wouldn’t plaster her pictures everywhere, but I feel like a few extra pictures on the blog will be okay today 🙂
