I don’t know why, but this has always made me laugh, and, consequently, has made me very self-aware of if I’m using the phrase “we’re expecting” ever since we started telling people about my pregnancy.
At any rate, as you may have guessed, we are not actually expecting a velociraptor. We had our ultrasound on Friday and it’s definitely a little person, although from my experiences with my niece and nephew, sometimes babies are really good at sounding like little dinosaurs.
So…..(is the suspense killing you?)…..it’s a girl! She looked good/healthy and the doctor said she didn’t see anything that gave her cause for concern, which is really the most important part of the ultrasound. Hearing that and getting to see her was pretty much the highlight of my day (well, my whole weekend, really). And of course, it’s nice to know the gender so I can can talk about “her” rather than “him/her” or “the baby” (or the velociraptor).
Now we get to continue to prepare for our daughter (whoa that is so weird saying!; I’m going to having a daughter, what?!) and enjoy our time as the two of us until March. 🙂
Please continue to keep us all in your prayers that we stay healthy and well.
