That one time when we saw JT

That one time when we saw JT

Preface: This post is going to be completely lacking in substance because all I’m going to do is fangirl over JT…You have been warned…

If loving Justin Timberlake is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Oh man…so I don’t recall if I ever mentioned this on the blog before, but back in March, Derrick got us tickets to go see Justin Timberlake in San Jose on August 11. I was super excited when he first got them because, well, this is JT we’re talking about. But then life was busy and it isn’t like I thought about going to his concert every day. But finally, August 11 arrived! I’m not going to lie, getting through work that day was brutal. I just wanted it to be time to go home and time to go to the concert! When we got to the SAP Center parking lot, I did some people-watching. There was a mix of people: young women in their 20s and 30s who were dragging their men with them to the show, moms with teenage daughters, gaggles of girls, with a smattering of older couples and families (why anyone would spend the money that concert cost for their 8 year-old to see the show is beyond me, but whatever).

We got in, got to our seats, and waited for the show to begin. Justin (we’re on a first name basis, no big deal) came out around 8:30 and performed till about 11:00, with just a 10-minute intermission. I feel like we definitely got our money’s worth out of the show.

He. Was. Awesome. He sounds amazing live. His dance moves are just so fantastic. AND he played guitar. AND he played the piano. Excuse me while I swoon a little. Add the lights and the video screens/set design behind him plus the old-school “big band” feel with his other musicians and you have yourself one heck of a show. And sure, he slowed it down a bit throughout the show, but at the end he was still singing and dancing and it didn’t sound like he was out of breath or tired at all. So I loved the whole experience. It felt like it was definitely over too soon, but I’m still really happy we got to go see him live.

Now please enjoy these pictures of itty-bitty-sized Justin Timberlake.
